My Aunt Carrie asked me to paint her motorcycle helmet for her. When she told about it, she described that she wanted it to be a ribbon creating a ‘C&R’ that also formed a heart. In the background she wanted a cross. These elements are very important to her. On the front right hand side she asked if I could paint a bleeding heart. I created the illustration using 1 Shot paint, the same paint that is used on Hot Rod’s for pinstriping. The name doesn’t lie, you don’t have a lot of time to play or wipe it off if you make a mistake.

In the end, I think it turned out beautifully, feminine and personal to her.
