A friend of mine asked me to draw him a tattoo. I’ve had a few people ask me to do that for them and I have always said no. Not sure why, I guess I wasn’t into tattoos. I appreciate them, but just not for me. When Noel asked me to draw him something I changed my mind on doing tattoos. I realized it’s the highest form of flattery to have someone tattoo your artwork on their body.
The idea behind the tat was show nobility and a pride. Almost like a warrior mask. I didn’t do pupils because I wanted people to focus on the entire piece, not just the eyes.
I find when you do pupils it’s always the first thing you see.
My original drawing was done in B&W. Noel worked with the tattoo artist and let him finish the tattoo the way he saw it. I think the final piece turned out beautifully.
